Types of business involved in poultry

The first type of opportunity is to enter in broiler farming for meat purpose. In this business special chicks of broiler are chosen and raised for about 6 weeks on the special feed with proper medicines. Generally, there are 6 flocks obtained in a year in this farming. This is a high-risk business with high profitability. This farming can be done by two means semi control and control sheds. In the semi, control shed the minimum no of chicks should be 3000 to start a feasible business, and the maximum it can go to 15000. This means is a low cost, but the mortality rate is very high in this mean. The control shed minimum feasible start is 15000 chicks and it may be up to 45000 chicks. The control shed is low mortality mode because of automation but it is very costly

The second type of a business plan in poultry is layer farming, which is farming for egg purpose. In this business the special breed oh hen called layers that is for egg purpose is used. It gives generally about 260 to 280 eggs per anum. Before egg laying 4 months is nursing or raising period. These birds are feasible for 2-year age then their laying capacity decreases so the farmer sells them in the market for meat purposes on fix rate of the bird. The kpk province of Pakistan is the famous market for it. In this business semi control and cage system is used and the rate of cage system eggs is higher. The rate of eggs depends upon the weight and daily DC rate by govt. This, mode is less risky as in these birds the mortality ratio and diseases are low henceforth the profit ratio is comparatively low.

The third type of business in poultry is organic meat and eggs trend. as discussed above due to commercialization and deficit supply the meat bird is raised in 6 weeks on feeds and steroids so now there is a new target market is emerging that is health conscious that demand the organic meat and eggs and are willing to pay even higher prices for them. So, there is huge potential and margin in this business

The forth type of opportunity is to raise the exotic breeds and foreign breeds that demand is raised hundreds of time of its actual value like Australorp and RIR breeds are now top demanding breed and a bird costing 1000 rupees are selling in the market from 10 to 15 thousand per bird.in this scenario the farming of these poultry will be very fruitful.
